Tidd Tech FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your implements used for?

Most folks are using our implements to groom cross country ski trails.

However, we also have customers using them to groom for snowshoeing, fat biking, dog sledding, kite skiing, as a touch up implement at alpine ski resorts, for sledding and tubing hills and for ingress/egress trails.

What kind of tow vehicle do I need to pull a TiddTech?

Historically, a snowmobile has been the vehicle of choice for pulling our groomers.

You will want a sled with a wide or long track and low gearing. In the last few years, people have also been pulling with tracked ATVs or UTVs like the John Deere Gator or Polaris Ranger.

Can I pull your equipment with a snowcat or something else?

Of course, you can pull it with whatever you can make work.

We have only listed the most common tow vehicles but new and interesting vehicles are showing up all the time.

How do you ship your equipment?

All of our implements ship via truck freight.

Parts and accessories generally ship via UPS or the US Postal Service. We want you to spend your hard earned dollars on toys not shipping, so, we try to find the most economical yet reliable method for getting things from our place to yours.

I already have a snowcat to groom with, why would I need a Tidd?

Because it makes grooming so much easier.

How much snow do you need before you can get that cat out there and do you let just anyone drive that bad boy? The beauty of lightweight groomers is that it is pretty easy to teach most anyone how to use them in a short amount of time. Additionally, in the early season or during lean snow years, it can be invaluable to have a tool that gets you out grooming ASAP with only a couple inches of snow.
